Director – Human Resource & Administration
Summary
As a member of the senior executive team, participate in the development of the organization’s Corporate and Strategic Plans. Provide leadership and coordination of the company’s Human Resource, Training and Development, and Administration functions.
Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement the company’s strategic Human Resource Management and Administration Plans.
- • Develop and implement the company’s strategic training and development plan to meet personal, professional, and organizational needs of company employees.
- • Oversee the design, development and implementation of compensation strategies and programs.
- • Develop and coordinate grievances procedures and mediate workplace disputes.
- • Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.
- • Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- • Evaluate company culture and provide recommendations on changes to accomplish company goals and objectives.
- • Provide general oversight for the company’s administration procurement activities.
- • Develop, implement and maintain good environmental, health and safety standards.
- • Develop and manage annual budgets for the Division and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.
- • Recommend and establish company policies and procedures.
- • Work with department managers and the Senior Executive team to develop the company’s corporate and strategic plans.
- • Establish and implement short and long term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- • Serve on planning and policy-making committees.
- • Provide general advice regarding Human Resource, Training and Development, Administration and Operational activities.
- • Perform other related functions as assigned by the CEO.
Core Duties And Responsibilities:
- • Identify and establish goals/objectives for the Unit in keeping with the company’s overall policies.
- • Participate in the development of the company’s Corporate and Strategic Plans.
- • Determine resource requirements for the achievement of the Unit’s objectives.
- • Ensure the effective recruitment and selection of staff to meet the human resource requirements of the Unit.
- • Approve staff development and training recommendations submitted by Heads of Department for Unit staff.
- • Ensure that expenditure for Administrative Expenses are carried out in a cost effective manner and in keeping with good business practices.
- • Conduct a quarterly review of the Unit’s operations and determine the action required to correct deviations from established performance standards. Submit quarterly review findings in the agreed format to the CEO in accordance with the stated deadline.
- • Review and approve departmental budgets and participate as a member of the company’s Budget Committee in the preparation of the company’s master budget for submission to the Board of Directors.
- • Submit timely and accurate monthly progress and status reports for the Unit to the CEO.
- • Chair the Disaster Preparedness and Business Continuity Planning Committees
- • Manage the Risk Management processes of the Division
Qualifications
- • Postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management and Development or General Management.
- • BSc. Degree in Human Resource Management, General Management or Psychology.
- • Ten (10) years working experience at a Senior Executive Level with responsibility for General Management, Human Resource Management, Training and Development.
- • Working knowledge of Human Resource Management Information Systems, an asset.
