Accounting Technician 2 (FMG/AT2)

Summary

Applicants are invited to fill the post of Accounting Technician 2. The Incumbent has the responsibility to carry out various accounting duties associated with the preparation and analysis of accounting data/information and maintenance of the Agency's payroll, costing, and statutory records.

Responsibilities

• • Carries out daily posting and monthly reconciliation of all cash books.
• • Carries out the daily pre-listing of cheques in cheque number sequence.
• • Sorts payment vouchers in capital and recurrent batches and files them in numerical sequence.
• • Maintains a prepaid vouchers control register.
• • Maintains daily bank balances control sheets and heads of expenditure control sheets.
• • Checks that invoices and receipts are attached to payment vouchers.
• • Monitors payables on a weekly basis to ensure all payments are made timely.
• • Monitors the Finance and Accounts Unit email daily and brings to the attention of the Senior Accountant or Director, Finance Accounts all outstanding requests.

Qualifications

• • AAT level 2 OR
• • ACCA - CAT level 2 OR
• • Associate Degree in Accounting PLUS
• • Two (2) years relevant experience.
