Data Protection & Administration Officer

Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of: Data Protection & Administration Officer in the Legal Department, Kirkvine Works, Manchester. The position calls for an individual with strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring in an independent manner and ensuring the Company's compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act.
• Establishing data protection framework and strategy for the Company.
• Filing of requisite reports with the Information Commissioner and generally liaising with that office.
• Conducting internal sensitization sessions.
• Continually monitoring the handling of data privacy policies and practices.
• Identification of breaches and remediation.
• Assisting with legal administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, Auditing, or a related field.
• Data Protection/Privacy Certification such as GIPP, CIPT, ISEB.
• Experience in Data Protection, Audit, Law.
• Sound knowledge of the Data Protection Act.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
