Summary

Lead the charge for meeting the Strategic Objectives of SME & the Cards & Payments Divisions. Develop and implement a strategy for both divisions, aligning with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Oversee the development, launch and maintenance of the SME & Cards & Payments products ensuring that they continue to meet the client’s needs and market trends. Create and monitor appropriate short and long-term strategies of the divisions aimed at the growth and efficient administration of the portfolios to gain market share and profitability. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams in the SME & Cards & Payments Divisions. Take responsibility for the achievement of team members’ performance against their goals, driving high team member engagement and ensuring an acceptable credit risk exposure in line with Sagicor’s risk appetite. Lead and promote the Sagicor Brand in business communities by working closely with Industry Business Leaders. Collaborate closely with the Executive Team of Sagicor Bank and Sagicor Group Jamaica. Lead the divisions under your supervision from the business perspective which involves the achievement of all quantitative and qualitative measures set out for the business, inclusive of the loyalty program and the POS business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the SME & Cards and Payments teams to ensure that the company’s vision is clearly communicated, business objectives relating to market share, retention, project delivery/efficiency, client experience and profitability are achieved.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies to grow the business through strategic alliances, value added services as well as explore new markets and business segments.
  • Drive a client-focused, and proactive culture throughout the team to deliver results.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Create initiatives to aid the achievement of budget targets for deposits, loans, usage, Interest income, Cards, POS Fees, Fraud, authorizations and expense management.
  • Ensure expenditure is carefully monitored and maintained within approved budget.
  • Participate with other team leads in the development of strategies for client retention, and engagement.
  • Ensure the ongoing provision of excellent experience to merchants and cardholders through regular calls and other relationship servicing initiatives, in conjunction with the unit’s staff under control.
  • Monitor personnel responsible for driving marketing initiatives aimed at ensuring proper client notifications, and awareness of product features and changes; driving usage, and desired spend behaviour.
  • Aid in client acquisition and growth of portfolios, in conjunction with sales department heads.
  • Attend key client and industry events and related courses and seminars.
  • Monitor portfolios for any potential gaps as it relates to product performance versus intended functionality of feature sets.
  • Proactively monitor for compliance mandates from schemes for mandatory upgrades /changes that all issuers/acquirers need to abide to in order to remain compliant.
  • Own and drive implementation of required changes to remain compliant; inclusive of change management and communication to relevant parties inclusive of clients.
  • Ensure that all product initiatives meet the compliance and regulatory guidelines and policies of the bank as well as our Regulators.
  • Monitor and report on performance of the Issuing & Acquiring Business.
  • Support with vendor management in conjunction with other respective parties and Operations head; build and maintain relationships with the International Payment Systems, service providers and outsource partners.
  • Represent SME & Card and Payment departments on projects in conjunction with Technical lead, working with other SGJ teams to ensure the success of projects for or related to payment products and services.
  • Proactively contribute to strategy and execution on business as usual or project management units to enhance current offerings or to launch new initiatives/products.
  • Work with Leadership to prepare submissions to Regulators (BOJ) with respect to seeking no-objections for new products/services, or to merely inform the Bank of product enhancements, in keeping with Banking Services Act.
  • Lead the Management Report function to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all submissions related to KPIS for both Issuing and Acquiring to Bank CEO, other designated regulatory and compliance authorities as well as international partners such as Visa and MasterCard.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Post-Graduate Degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years overall working experience in banking including extensive experience in the Card Business to include at least three (3) years at a senior leadership level.
