Summary

The Manager In Training assists the Store Manager in motivating and inspiring their team to achieve store productivity goals. They help the Store Manager to analyze week to date, period to date, and year to date sales, and develop action plans to drive revenue. This is a hands-on leadership position, in addition to coaching and developing your team, you will also set an example of outstanding customer service while working alongside and with them.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the individual and collective skills of the team are utilized effectively, and both the staff and customer experience is positive;
  • Effectively manages store operations, ensuring consistency and compliance with all policies and procedures;
  • Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the store by promoting a positive and productive work environment;
  • Partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store coworkers, recruit and retain top talent, while promoting company values and providing excellent customer service;
  • Assists in delivering consistent, in the moment, feedback and coaching to employees;
  • Partners with the Store Manager to set SMART goals, achieve financial success and adjust as necessary;
  • Creates a welcoming environment for the customer by greeting and assisting; as well as quickly responding to customer inquiries and need;
  • Ensures company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times;
  • Provides administrative support to the general manager which includes managing all new hire paperwork and submitting to the HR department;
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes all campaigns, and store promotions in a timely manner;
  • Displays ability to perform all tasks of subordinate associates on an as needed basis.
  • Performs sales and BBO transactions while developing skills for the role;
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures and practices.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or High school GED with previous management experience;
  • Strategic and tactical staff management skills;
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor;
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Strong fiscal management;
  • A combination of an engaging personality, solid leadership skills, with high energy to thrive in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Commitment to coaching, teaching, mentoring, and motivating the team;
  • Process driven with a strong attention to detail and organization;
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills;
  • Strong P&L experience - Goal driven with a passion for winning as a team.
