Internal Auditor (Corporate)

Summary

The Social Development Commission, a dynamic statutory organization engaged in facilitating empowerment of citizens in communities thus enabling their participation in the National Development process, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following temporary contractual position (Contract will be for six months): Internal Auditor (Corporate) Under the general direction of the Senior Internal Auditor, the incumbent has the responsibility to assist in planning, organizing and controlling the work of the Internal Audit Unit: to develop audit procedures to ensure the existence of an effective and efficient system of internal control process; and to ensure compliance to the Laws, Rules and Regulations, governing all financial transactions of the Commission. 💰Salary: $5,198,035 to $6,990,779 JMD per annum

Required Skills

• • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
• • Good organizational, time-management skills and high level of initiative and flexibility
• • Ability to analyze, interpret and report findings and recommendation;
• • Knowledge of modern office management principles, practices and equipment;
• • Working knowledge of PC applications software, including word processing and spreadsheet packages

Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management Studies or Business
• • Administration; ACCA Fundamentals or Equivalent
• • Five (4) years Auditing experience
• • Working knowledge of the Financial Administration and Audit Act (FAA Act)
• • Successful completion of relevant government auditing courses and Professional audit training would be an asset.

Additional Information and Instructions

• Special Conditions Associated with the job:

  • • Travelling to various locations to perform work-related assignments and/or attend meeting.
  • • May be required to work outside of normal working hours.
