Application Tester
Summary
Seeking a proactive Quality Assurance Tester to collaborate with teams in managing and analyzing testing activities, ensuring high application quality by reducing defects before User Acceptance Testing and production. The ideal candidate will have a degree in IT or a related field, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in test execution, data management, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- • Undertake all system test related activities in support of the business requirements for the provision of new and updated systems
- • Prepare test cases, test scripts, and test reports for an application testing strategy/ approach.
- • Participate in functional, integration and regression testing, or other test types, to ensure appropriate test coverage according to application requirements.
- • Perform end to end testing of applications including requirements understanding, test planning, test case and scenario development, test execution, results analysis and manage test data.
- • Work with teams in a collaborative style to engage partners and proactively manage testing activities.
- • Improve quality of applications and user satisfaction by minimizing the number of defects that go into User Acceptance Testing and production.
- • Generate test metrics and record appropriately using standardized formats.
- • Participate in the re-testing of defects and issues.
- • Support other test team members and associated Information Technology resources, as appropriate, through the execution of testing related activities.
- • Assist with attended testing, by retrieving/ obtaining data or peripheral devices for use in test execution.
- • Ensure compliance with defined processes pertaining to preparation and escalation of defects.
- • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • At least one (1) year working experience in a business/ computing environment.
- • Good analytical skills.
- • Attention to detail and tenacity.
- • Ability to work under pressure.
- • Good organization and time management skills.
- • Strong interpersonal skills.
- • Good communication skills.
- • Ability to work in a team.
- • Committed to professional and ethical standards.
- • Advanced proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite.
