Relief Nurse

Summary

At Mount Pleasant Academy Limited in Runaway Bay, St. Ann, we harness and develop the talents and potential of young elite footballers in a safe, professional, and caring environment. As such we are seeking a suitable candidate to fill the following position: Relief Nurse The Relief School Nurse provides temporary healthcare services to students within Mount Pleasant Academy. This role requires a highly adaptable and professional individual with strong clinical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment. This individual will also be working closely with a senior nurse.

Responsibilities

Some Duties include:

• • Assess, treat, and document minor illnesses and injuries (e.g., cuts, scrapes, fevers, headaches, muscle strains)
• • Administer medications as per physician orders and school policies
• • Provide first aid and emergency care as needed
• • Assist in the initial assessment and management of sports injuries (e.g., sprains, strains, concussions)
• • Collaborate with trainers and coaches for optimal student care
• • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
• • Document all medical interventions and treatments
• • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, coaches, and other school personnel regarding student health needs

Required Skills

• • Knowledge of basic sports injury assessment and management is desirable
• • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• • Compassionate and patient demeanour

Qualifications

• • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in Jamaica
• • At least 3 years' experience in a related field
• • Current certification in CPR and First Aid
• • Experience working with children preferred
