Delivery Assistant

Summary

Delivery Assistant main responsibilities include assisting the driver with loading and unloading the truck, delivering equipment or products to customers and clients, helping drivers navigate to each destination on schedule, and recording delivery logs. He/she reports to the Warehouse Supervisor on the shift assigned.

Responsibilities

• • Assist in unloading goods on various routes to various customers
• • Always keep truck clean and tidy in preparation for other colleagues’ use.
• • Communicate with customers and clients to ensure they’re happy with the service they received.
• • Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
• • Ensure all package are accounted for and signatures received.
• • Work along with the driver to expedite delivery.
• • Sort and palletize goods to be loaded for delivery.
• • Work closely with supervisor to ensure that production line flows efficiently
• • Perform all tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all other employees.

Qualifications

• • Physically fit and able to lift up to and over 50lbs
• • Endurance to work long hours, night shift, holidays and weekends
• • Work well as part of a team,
• • Be able to meet to tight deadlines.
• • High school diploma/certificate.
• • Previous experience would be an asset
• • Valid Food Handler’s Permit
• • Forklift operation experience would be an asset
• • Knowledge of Bureau of Standards regulations, HACCP and AEO is an asset.
