Fleet Mechanic
Summary
Ensuring maintenance, repair, and servicing of both light and heavy-duty off warranty vehicles within a company's fleet. This role involves working on a diverse range of vehicles, including cars, light trucks and pick-ups, and heavy-duty trucks and equipment. The goal is to ensure that all vehicles are operational, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
Responsibilities

- • Perform routine maintenance on light and heavy-duty vehicles, including oil changes, brake servicing, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- • Address mechanical issues in light-duty vehicles such as cars and light trucks and pick-ups, as well as heavy-duty vehicles including trucks, tractors, forklifts, and agricultural equipment.
- • Diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical issues across both light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- • Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking systems, and hydraulic systems for light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- • Conduct thorough inspections of light vehicles to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards.
- • Perform inspections for heavy-duty vehicles and equipment and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues in both light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- • Stay updated on technological advancements and repair techniques relevant to both types of vehicles and equipment.
- • Manage inventory of parts and supplies for both light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring availability and proper storage.
- • Order and source parts as needed and maintain an organized workshop environment.
Qualifications
- • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Mechanic
- • University degree or equivalent in Mechanical engineering
- • Technical certification or equivalent in both light and heavy-duty vehicle and equipment repair is preferred.
- • Valid Open General driver’s license
- • Specialized certification is an asset.
