Director - Attractions Development (Product Development & Community Tourism) - Kingston
Summary
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director, Product Development & Community Tourism implements systems which facilitate investments in new tourism attractions, directs the management of attractions which fall under the remit of TPDCo and guides the development of craft/artisan villages in the sector.
Responsibilities
- • Liaise with varying communities, Government and Non-Government organizations concerning development of policies for the implementation and sustainability of attractions that impact on tourism.
- • Establishes framework and facilitates the investment in and implementation of tourism attractions.
- • Researches and packages potential attractions for presentation to interested investors.
- • Leads the process of negotiating, monitoring and subletting of various tourism attractions.
- • Provides advise to investors and other industry stakeholders and organizations.
- • Sets up management systems for the effective and efficient operations of TPDCo controlled attractions.
- • Conceptualizes and proposes ideas for the development and enhancement of TPDCo attractions.
- • Prepares monthly, annual and occasional progress reports.
- • Represents TPDCo at Inter-Agency meetings which impact on attractions.
- • Evaluates, proposals for attractions which impact on the tourism product.
- • Prepares and manages the budget for the unit.
- • Performs any other related duty assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.
Performance Standards:
- • The appropriate framework for investment in attractions is implemented.
- • Management systems are in place to manage TPDCo controlled attractions.
- • Advice given to investors is sound.
- • Objectives are met in accordance with deadlines.
- • Performance standards are established for direct reports.
- • Accurate, current information on attractions is available and provides a sound base on which to base. decisions on the next course of action.
- • Reports are provided to meet established deadlines.
Qualifications
- • Master’s Degree preferably in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
- • Training and/or experience in Project Management.
- • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience at the Senior Management Level.
- • Any equivalent Combination of Qualifications and Experience”
