Paralegal Officer 1 (PLG/LS 4)

Summary

Under the general direction of the Assistant Attorney General, the Paralegal Officer is responsible for providing administrative and legal support to legal officers in the Legal Services Unit in the Ministry by creating and maintaining support systems and processes which assist the work of the Senior Assistant Attorney General and Legal Officers. 💰Salary: $1,771,060 JMD per annum

Responsibilities

• • Schedules and organizes meetings and venues and inform attendees of meetings beforehand;
• • Receives and makes telephone calls for the Senior Legal Officer and other staff in the Division;
• • Maintains an effective and efficient information storage and retrieval system both manually and electronically;
• • Updates Senior Legal Officer on pending cases;
• • Attends in-house meetings and takes notes and reproduces in an accurate and presentable manner;

Qualifications

• • Training or Qualification in Legal or Paralegal Studies;
• • Minimum Five (5) CSEC subjects including English Language;
• • Three (3) years’ experience in a law office or legal environment.
