
Assistant Manager - Foreign Exchange Trading
Summary
Deploy the foreign exchange strategies as outlined by the Manager, FX Trading. Engage in the buying and selling of approved foreign currencies to achieve the established targets, while operating within the guidelines established in the Foreign Exchange Policy and Risk Management Committee. Assist with maintaining foreign exchange client relationships and growing foreign exchange client base. Assist with approving foreign exchange trades.
Responsibilities
- • Assist with setting and disseminating foreign exchange rates to the branch network daily.
- • Assist with updating the foreign exchange rates on the website.
- • Ensure that transactions negotiated on the foreign exchange desk are settled within the stipulated time.
- • Assist with organizing client meetings each month in conjunction with the Manager, FX Trading.
- • Preparation of daily and monthly reports as requested by Manager, FX Trading and Treasurer.
- • Contact clients to negotiate buy/sell foreign exchange transactions.
- • Assist with maintaining foreign exchange client relationships and growing foreign exchange client base.
- • Ensure that all transactions negotiated on the foreign exchange desk are settled within the stipulated time.
- • Assist with setting and disseminating foreign exchange rates to the branch network daily as well as updating the foreign exchange rates on the website.
- • Respond to client correspondence and queries both internal and external.
- • Preparation of daily and monthly reports as requested by Treasurer.
- • Provide support/relief for the Foreign Exchange Trader at the Montego Bay Branch.
- • Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • Good negotiating skills.
- • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- • Familiarity with Bloomberg.
- • Working knowledge of the local and international markets.
- • Able to make sound decisions and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- • Composed working under pressure, handling the ambiguity of competing deadlines.
- • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • Minimum of two (2) years’ Commercial Banking experience in a Treasury or Trading environment.
