Summary

The National Works Agency, an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica, is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the under-mentioned position. Data Collection Technician (Level 2) 💰Salary: $1,711,060 JMD per annum

Responsibilities

To collect road-related data, such as pedestrian and vehicle classification, vehicle weights, origin-destination studies, and traffic counts.

  • Conduct traffic engineering field studies as directed, including but not limited to:

    • Traffic surveys
    • Pedestrian studies
    • Roadside interviews
    • Delay studies
    • Compliance studies
    • Serve land acquisition notices

Required Skills

  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Details conscious.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and team skills.
  • Mathematically inclined.

Qualifications

  • Four (4) CXC/GCE or equivalent including English and Mathematics; science and/or building subjects preferred.
  • At least two (2) years working experience in a road construction/traffic management environment.
