Client Relationship Officer
Summary
Effectively administer all aspects of group life and health plans within the assigned portfolio(s) to ensure that clients’ requests are dealt with promptly, efficiently and courteously. Interpret the terms of contract on behalf of clients and ensure they are adhered to. Provide and maintain accurate and consistent standards, quality, integrity and security of clients’ data and offering excellent client relationship management.
Responsibilities
Administer group and individual health and group life insurance portfolios.:
- • Maintain member records for the team members and their dependents.
- • Develop and maintain a strong client relationship with the Plan Administrators for each scheme assigned and be responsible for all services based on the stated standards of performance.
- • Screen all new applications for completeness, requesting additional information/ relevant medical evidence where necessary.
- • Ensure the timely processing of plan closures for terminated group life and health cases.
- • Maintain on-going communication by the most expedient method, to keep clients informed and advised.
- • Ensure timely transmission of data to facilitate update of client files.
- • Process all queries, changes and reconciliations within the stipulated timeframe.
- • Prepare and distribute reconciliations of membership data.
- • Provide telephone and written responses to client queries as necessary to satisfactorily meet the client’s needs.
- • Ensure all processes related to excess coverage (> NEL) are dealt with expeditiously based on established procedures.
- • Prepare monthly reports on the client data activities, to provide information for the management of the unit.
- • Arrange training of client administrators.
- • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • Knowledge of local data privacy legislation.
- • Sound knowledge of group life and health Insurance policy contracts.
- • Ability to undertake research, analyze results and make decisions.
- • Excellent attitude to client service and teamwork.
- • A keen eye for detail and critical administrative skills.
- • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to give presentations and reports.
- • Expert knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies, Business Administration or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • In pursuit of FLMI, HIAA or ACS designation.
- • At least three (3) years’ working experience in the insurance industry, preferably in the operations division of a life or health insurance company.
