Junior Media Planner
Summary
The Junior Media Planner/Buyer supports the administrative duties of the Media Department including verifying invoices, fielding and evaluation of inquiries from internal team members, and other third parties. The incumbent will stay abreast and keep track of media coverage and strategies, research products/services and understand the objectives of a particular campaign. The role involves research and development of high-level marketing/branding concepts for marketing, research and media content. The job will require working closely with internal and external clients.
Responsibilities
- • Helps to identify target audiences and plan media campaigns with media planner.
- • Compares and negotiates rates, ad space and airtime across various media.
- • Keeps abreast of and optimizes plans and budgetary allocations according to the best media mix for clients’ needs.
- • Experiment with new platforms and channels including digital and mobile media.
- • Ensure ads are placed and displayed appropriately.
- • Monitors costs and return on investment (ROI).
- • Builds long-term relationships with media sales personnel.
- • Buy advertising space on TV, Radio, Newspaper, Magazines, Outdoor and Digital.
- • Recommend which days and times ads should run.
- • Research media trends and monitor media buys.
- • Prepare advertising schedules with media planner.

- • Confident speaking with clients and media vendors.
- • Maintains high levels of confidentiality.
- • Pays keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- • Must show passion, Integrity, and Energy!
- • Must be a Team Player and be able to work on own initiative.
Qualifications
- • Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing, English, Media Studies, Journalism, Business Management or another related subject.
- • Experience in managing marketing campaigns would be an asset.
- • Must be able to determine the cost benefit of using proposed media mediums, identify the appropriate channels of marketing communication and analyze actionable market insights.
