Assistant Dietitian - (HPC/NDT 2)

Summary

The North East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness with responsibility for the management and delivery of public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland, is seeking a dynamic, proactive, experienced and analytical individual with strong team building skills to fill the position of Assistant Dietitian at the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital. 💰$2,795,163 – $3,322,571 per annum

Responsibilities

• • Maintain effective and efficient work flow within the Dietetics Department through consistent communication
• • Delegate responsibilities to subordinates such as Head Cook, Cooks, Hospital Attendants
• • Providing staff with the necessary assistance and direction that will enable them to perform their duties effectively
• • Liaise with the Public Health Department regarding food handlers’ permits
• • Assist with the coordination of quarterly meetings with all food service workers.
• • Coordinates the Food Service production in accordance with established procedures of the Dietetics Department, through and in conjunction with the Institutional Dietitian.
• • Inspects and tastes food for quality and quantity
• • Check for plate waste on wards and liaise with the Institutional Dietitian

• • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• • Excellent oral and written communication skills
• • Proficient in Microsoft Word
• • Excellent team building and observational skills
• • Knowledge of Clinical Nutrition Services.
• • Knowledge of Food Service System Management

Qualifications

• • Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
• • At least two (2) years working experience in Food Production and Service
• • Supervisory Management Training & Certification
• • Registration with the Council for the Professions Supplementary to Medicine
