Technical Support Officer
Summary
The Social Development Commission, a dynamic statutory organization engaged in facilitating empowerment of citizens in communities thus enabling their participation in the National Development process, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following temporary contractual position (Contract will be for six months): Technical Support Officer (Clarendon, Manchester & St. Elizabeth) Under the general direction of the Director ICT, the Technical Support Officer is responsible for providing technical support and advice to users/clients across multiple locations, platforms and technologies. This includes Help Desk, the SDC’s Intranet and Web-based interactions. 💰Salary: $2,190,302 to $2,945,712 JMD per annum

- • Strong diagnostic skills and a working knowledge of current technologies and trends;
- • Sound knowledge of computer hardware components;
- • Sound knowledge of common PC applications particularly issues related to scalability and management with an enterprise-wide focus;
- • Good knowledge of standards and procedures in the installation, repair and maintenance of hardware;
- • Demonstrates sound personal and professional integrity, reflecting high ethical and moral values;
- • Advanced IT skills in relation to Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project or other project tool.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, ICT and Management Information Systems or a related discipline;
- • Two (2) years related experience in a Network Administration role.
Additional Information and Instructions
Special Conditions Associated with the job:
- • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software. The environment is fast paced with on-going interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines which will result in high degrees of pressure, on occasions. May be required to travel locally and overseas to attend conferences, seminars and meetings. Should own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
