Restaurant Server - Couples Swept Away

Summary

The Restaurant Server is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing attentive service, taking accurate orders, and ensuring guest satisfaction. They play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere in the hotel’s restaurant by maintaining professionalism, efficiency, and a strong knowledge of the menu. The Restaurant Server reports to the Restaurant Team Leader and is accountable to him.

Responsibilities

• Guest Service & Order Taking:

  • • Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
  • • Present menus, explain daily specials and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them promptly to the kitchen and bar.
  • • Ensure timely and efficient service while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.

• Food & Beverage Service:

  • • Serve food and beverages according to hotel standards, ensuring proper presentation.
  • • Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any requests or concerns.
  • • Refill drinks, clear empty plates, and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
  • • Assist with special dietary requests and communicate modifications to the kitchen.

• Table Maintenance & Cleanliness:

  • • Set up tables with clean linens, silverware, and glassware before each shift.
  • • Clear and reset tables efficiently between guests.
  • • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area in compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Teamwork & Support:

  • • Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers to ensure seamless service.
  • • Assist in stocking service stations, preparing silverware, and maintaining supplies.
  • • Participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed about specials, events, and any service updates.

Qualifications

• • Previous experience as a server in a hotel, fine dining, or casual dining restaurant is preferred.
• • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Physical Requirements:

  • • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • • Must be able to lift and carry trays of food and beverages.
  • • Comfortable working in a busy and sometimes noisy environment.
