HEART Trainee - Business Development & Policy Services (1-Year Contract)

Summary

In partnership with HEART/NSTA TRUST, Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking candidates for the School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) specially designed to bridge the gap between school and the world of work for recent school leavers. Our School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) is for school leavers between the ages of 17 to 23, who have six or more CXC or GCE passes including English Language and Mathematics. In the SLTOP, trainees have the opportunity to work with Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited for up to one year, where they can fully acquaint themselves with the company’s daily operations in order to gain rich, immersive practical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• • Assist with the preparation of reimbursements to doctors/ clients for medical services/ fees related to the application process.
• • Assist with preparing and dispatching letters and/ or cheques for “Not Proceeded With” cases within the stipulated guidelines.

• Process write backs of cheques.:

  • • Process write back of cheques for reopening or transfer to policies within the agreed standards as requested.
• • Prepare weekly and monthly reports within established guidelines.
• • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

• • A minimum of six (6) subjects at the CSEC (General Proficiency) or GCE (Ordinary) level, including English Language and Mathematics.
• • Basic knowledge of life insurance operations.
• • Effective communication skills.
• • Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• • Good time management and human relations skills.
• • Ability to work under pressure.
