Operations Manager - Canine and Security Services

Summary

The Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) is seeking a results-driven Operations Manager - Canine and Security Services to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of its Canine Search & Detection Unit and Security Services. This leadership role involves managing a team of canine handlers, grooms, and armed/unarmed security personnel while ensuring compliance with operational standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• • Lead deployment, scheduling, and supervision of canine and security teams
• • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and client service level agreements
• • Oversee fleet and inventory management
• • Foster team development and manage staff performance
• • Maintain client relationships and support business development
• • Handle operational reporting, incident resolution, and administrative duties

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• • Minimum 5 years' experience in security or canine operations, with 3+ years in a supervisory role
• • Knowledge of canine search and detection is a strong asset
• • Experience in managing armed/unarmed teams and logistics coordination
• • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
