Sub Ledger Officer (Level 4)
Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Revenue Accountant, the Sub-Ledger Officer is responsible to: Exercise control over all sub-ledger Accounts maintained. Monitor and report on Airline indebtedness regarding Travel Taxes Monitor Deposit Accounts and provide balanced updates as required. Monitor settlement of Auction Sales Provide Account reports to Agencies on their designated Revenue streams. the strategic planning, reporting and development of Jamaica Customs and represent the operational units. đź’°Basic Salary: $4,266,270 annually.
Responsibilities
Technical/Professional:
- • Update Airline Travel Tax Returns data to the Travel Tax sub-ledger.
- • Monitor payment submission from Airlines
- • Calculated Airline Debt and Penalties payables
- • Prepares statements for these sub-ledgers.
- • Prepares demand letters to airlines for non-payment of travel tax.
- • Update and distribute Direct Bank transfers listing.
- • Provide reports to Customers on Advanced Deposit account balances and monitor promissory notes refunds to account for non-cash refunds.
- • Receives direct payment instructions and disseminates to collecting stations.
- • Verifies Subsidiary Ledgers with main Ledgers.
Customer Service:
- • Maintains customer service principles, standards, and measurements.
- • Identifies and incorporates the interests and needs of customers in business process design.
- • Ensures critical success factors are identified and meet expectations.
Other:
- • Performs all other duties and functions as may be required occasionally.
- • May be required to provide witness statements, attend court proceedings, and give evidence.
- • Complies with Health & Safety Policies & Procedures.

- • Working knowledge of the Financial Audit and Administration Act.
- • Working knowledge of relevant computer systems and their applications.
- • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- • Comprehensive knowledge of Bank Reconciliation practices and procedures
Qualifications
- • First Degree in Accounting/ ACCA Level 2/Public Administration/Business Management with an emphasis on accounting or a related field.
- • CAT Level 3/ACCA-AAT Level 3
- • At least one (1) year of related experience.
