Summary

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Secretariat Officer to join our team at The Jamaica National Group Limited. This role is critical in maintaining corporate protocols and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of the Unit while reinforcing compliance and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Deputy Corporate Secretary, the incumbent will handle sensitive matters and support legal, corporate governance, and organizational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit Board meeting minutes to the Deputy Corporate Secretary as per SLA.
  • Maintain an up-to-date meeting calendar, ensuring relevant parties receive notifications within standard.
  • Assist in disseminating meeting minutes and packages.
  • Follow up on meeting action items to ensure completion as agreed.
  • Review internal and external governance and board-related communications.
  • Conduct research and assist with regulatory matters related to corporate governance.
  • Coordinate the preparation of documentation requested by auditors and regulators.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and external auditors/regulators.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Deputy General Legal Counsel.
  • Stay informed on organizational policies, products, services, and reporting changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Administration, or Law.
  • Certificate in Administrative Corporate Secretaryship or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Corporate Secretariat Officer or in a similar role supporting Legal or Corporate Governance functions.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an Assistant Manager position.
