Chief Category Manager

Summary

The Chief Category Manager (CCM) is responsible for the overall strategic planning, development and overseeing the execution of the various category plans for the company. The CCM must be aware of market dynamics, including consumer preferences, industry trends, and regulatory changes, and adjust strategies accordingly. All duties performed are with a view to increase the sales and profitability of the business to drive sustainable growth. The incumbent is required to oversee specific aspects of the business that falls in the responsibility of the Category Department.

Responsibilities

• • Development, Execution and Assessment of Category strategies
• • Deriving the Annual Sales Budget
• • Management of the Hi-Lo Brand and Food Service strategies
• • Store & Product Promotional Support
• • Merchandising and Product Placement in Stores
• • Vendor Relationship Management
• • Price & Margin Management
• • Analytical Review of Categories
• • Product Data Management
• • Overseeing the company’s Marketing & E-Commerce functions

Qualifications

• • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounts, Finance, Marketing or Management Studies
• • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in operations of a Retail Food or FMCG businesses at the strategic level.
• • Knowledge of the principles of Category Management
• • Working knowledge of general accounting principles
• • Experience in marketing would be an asset.
• • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
• • Sound analytical and organizational skills
• • Ability to manipulate and interpret data
• • Excellent communication skills both orally and in a written format
• • Excellent time management skills
• • Implementation and results oriented
• • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• • Negotiation
• • Able to be flexible and work beyond normal working hours as the need arises
• • High level of initiative and self-driven
