Assistant Accountant

Summary

KPMG in Caricom is expanding its Audit practice and is seeking to hire talented, highly motivated Audit professionals who can work within a structured client service process and a proven risk-management methodology. 2024 Finalizing students at recognized Universities with the required GPA are invited to apply. The successful candidates will have some or all of the following characteristics:

Responsibilities

• • Perform the auditing procedures assigned to him/her.
• • Ensure the adequacy and appropriateness of the workpapers.
• • Inform the auditor-in-charge about auditing or accounting problems encountered.
• • Being alert to and reporting to the auditor-in- charge, specific aspects of service which may be of benefit to the client.
• • Review bank reconciliations and verify reconciled items.
• • Provides support on a variety of audit engagements in accordance with the firm's audit methodology and audit quality procedures.
• • ​Ensures compliance with client, statutory and KPMG requirements ensuring the effective and timely delivery of engagements.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or ACCA Level I
• • Minimum GPA score of 3.3 from a recognized university
• • Minimum Grade II in CXC English Language or equivalent
• • Willingness to aggressively work towards the ACCA or CPA qualification
• • Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel
• • Strong interpersonal, report writing and communication skills
• • Flexible and willing to travel
• • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to adapt to a multi-cultural experience
