Summary

Provide administrative support to the Paramedic Unit. Perform administrative and clerical duties for the Paramedic Unit and maintain quality client-centered service for internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure efficient client flow at the facility.
  • Screen and place telephone calls.
  • Document medical and laboratory reports for submission to the Underwriting or New Business Departments.
  • Handle queries for clients over the phone and face to face.
  • Retrieve and affix policy numbers to all medical and laboratory reports.
  • Compile and submit reports to the Senior Paramedic Nurse and Chief Underwriter/ Underwriting Manager.
  • Prepare a list of defaulters.
  • Coordinate the waiting area to ensure smooth flow of clients.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Good human relations skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet application.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Business Studies from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of LOMA (parts 1 and 2) would be an asset.
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience in a similar position.
