Social Media Manager
Summary
Under the direction of the Deputy CEO/Director, Electronic Production, the Social Media Manager is responsible for maintaining the Agency’s presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X through a programme of intense planning and management of a high-performing team of social media professionals, and in collaboration with key stakeholders across the Agency. The Manager is also responsible for designing and implementing social media strategies to align with the business goals and strategic themes of the Agency. 💰Salary: $6,333,301.00 - $8,517,585.93 per annum
Responsibilities
- • Creates and implements, in collaboration with the Management Team, comprehensive social media/e-marketing plans, programmes, budgets, editorial calendars, and syndication schedules.
- • Develops and organises social media e-marketing content production, schedules and disseminates information to the media and public by means of the platforms.
- • Collaborates with the Computer Services, as well as Public Relations & Marketing Managers on Government priorities, policies and programmes to glean relevant information and data to prepare a monthly calendar.
- • Plans and designs digital marketing campaigns, including web, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)/Search Engine Marketing (SEM), email, social media and display advertising.
- • Keeps abreast of current developments in the JIS and makes changes on all social media platforms to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- • Investigates complaints and monitors social media/e-marketing services generally and recommends changes to the Deputy CEO/Director, Electronic Production when required.
- • Attends monthly Management Meetings and presents report on the performance of the Agency’s social media platforms and the operations of the Department.
- • Liaises with Directors and other Departmental Managers and attends Production Meetings to achieve synergy in the output of the Government’s communication programme.
- • Develops the Budget and Operational Plan for the Department, assigns targets to all team members, and tracks performance.
Required Skills
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail-oriented.
- • Highly developed critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, planning, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- • Outstanding interpersonal, people management, and presentation skills.
- • Sound knowledge of Marketing, Public Relations and communication strategies, as well as Government’s communication policies and protocols.
- • Knowledge of and expertise in multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, or related discipline.
- • Specialised training in Public Relations.
- • Three (3) years’ experience in a comparable position.
- • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
- • Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications and presentation; technology driven.
