Machine (Baler) Operator

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Machine (Baler) Operator to serve our depot functions in a safe and timely manner. The incumbent will be responsible for the daily set-up and operation of the baler. They will also ensure the machine produces the weight required, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.

Responsibilities

• • Ensure material is appropriate for baling
• • Tend to machine that carries out baling process and observe its functioning
• • Read scales to verify weights of bales
• • Once per week ensure baler is cleaned
• • Ensure all bales produced are placed in the storage area
• • Notify supervisor of any product problem or baling issues immediately
• • Responsible for house-keeping standards around the baling area.
• • Verify quality and count with accuracy all bales produced
• • Ensure daily targets are achieved
• • Ensure adequate wire is on hand for baler

Required Skills

• • Knowledge of mechanical operations and skills
• • Knowledge of all safety practices and guidelines
• • Ability to work independently
• • Attention to detail
• • Required to exert physical effort

Qualifications

• • High school diploma
• • Proven work experience as a Machine (Baler)Operator is an asset
