Reefer Coordinator
Summary
Responsibility to monitor and coordinate all reefer related activities on a given shift. Provide information, support and guidance to the Reefer technicians so that the Company delivers a level of service to customers that is equal to international standards and meets the Company’s and its customers’ and employees’ expectations with regards to efficiency, productivity, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- • Confirm the compliment of Reefer Technicians and General Workers for the shift and requests additional labour if required.
- • Reviews reports from previous shift and send update to Shipping Line Agents on wash/pre-trip activities and repairs.
Liaise with Reefer Supervisor and Planning Team on projected reefer activities for the shift:
- • Vessel discharge / loading
- • Yard transfer activities
- • Domestic reefer deliveries.
- • Liaise with Reefer Technicians throughout the shift to ensure efficient coordination of all reefer activities.
- • Monitor and responds to reefer related emails from Agents and customers.
- • Review automated reefer reports and advise technicians of anomalies that require investigation.
- • Utilize TOS to update Monitoring and Plug In/Out activities 'real time', temperatures setting and monitoring, and reefer alarms throughout the shift.
- • Coordinate resources and monitor special handling of high value and/or cold treatment reefers, to ensure the units remain unplugged no less than 30 minutes, as per global standard agreement with shipping lines.
- • Immediately report KPI failures to the Planning Shift Manager on duty.
- • Updates various reports on reefer activities executed during the shift and prepare end of shift/handover reports.
Qualifications
- • Degree in Production & Operations Management from a recognized institution or equivalent qualification.
- • Three (3) years’’ working experience in the Shipping Industries
- • Training and experience in operations planning and management, and supervisory management
- • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices and Terminal operations
- • High energy, integrity and ethics, excellent judgement, leadership and motivation
- • Problem solving, organizing, time management, setting priorities
- • Communication and teamwork
