Summary

The Jamaica Fire Brigade, a Statutory Body of the Government of Jamaica, is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the undermentioned positions: Assistant Corporate Planner (Monitoring and Evaluation Officer) (GMG/SEG 1)

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of reports, briefings, presentations, and responses to strategic planning issues on behalf of the Commissioner and senior management through the Corporate Planner.
  • Informs senior management of any significant deviations from performance targets, facilitating strategy development to address identified gaps in collaboration with the Corporate Planner.
  • Assists in the development of performance standards, indicators, and benchmarks, and monitors sector performance against these targets.
  • Assists in the production of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual performance reports.
  • Contributes to the development of the Section's corporate/operational plan and budget, ensuring targets are achieved as planned.
  • Prepares and submits performance and other required reports, ensuring timely submission of all documents.
  • Implements results-based M&E strategies, focusing on the achievement of objectives.
  • Provides input into M&E work plans, analysis, and evaluation areas, and follows up on updating the M&E plan.
  • Contributes to M&E reviews and supports the management of results-based M&E processes.

Required Skills

  • Sound knowledge of the Staff Orders, Public Service Regulations, Financial Administration and Audit Act, Jamaica Fire Brigade Terms and Condition Service Manual (Non-uniform Staff), and Jamaica Fire Brigade Regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other corporate information for informed decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of corporate functions and their potential strategic contribution to the organization.
  • Good knowledge of information technology and its potential to support management and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Policy, or Public Administration.
  • Three (3) years' experience in the Public Service at the administrative level and in Corporate Planning.
