Summary

Under the supervision of the AIM Publication Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing and provision of quality assured Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) for the Kingston FIR through aeronautical publications, in accordance with the standards and recommended practices of ICAO Annex 4 and 15. This includes the receipt, research, validation, interpretation, prioritisation and timely publication of permanent or extended length elements of the Aeronautical Information Products.

Required Skills

  • Key Technical Competencies Required:

    • • Sound knowledge of procedures involved in the production and publication of AIP Amendment, AIP Supplement, Aeronautical Information Circulars, AIP Charts/Maps, AIRAC Publications and Trigger NOTAM.
    • • Sound knowledge of the AIP document specifications, structure, information according to ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
    • • Sound knowledge of the operations, structure, functions and responsibilities of Aeronautical Information Service /Aeronautical Information Management.
    • • Sound knowledge of routing structure of the Kingston Flight Information Region (FIR)
    • • General knowledge of ICAO standards and recommended practices in respect of Annexes 15 and 4, AIS Manual (DOC 8126); Aeronautical Chart Manual (DOC 8697); PANS-AIM (DOC 10066); Abbreviations and Codes (DOC 8400); PANS-IM (DOC 10199); Airport Services Manual – Rescue and Fire Fighting (DOC 9137); Location Indicator (DOC 7910).
    • • General knowledge of the Civil Aviation Regulations (JCARS) 2012 particularly Schedules pertaining to Aeronautical Information Services.
    • • General knowledge of Communications, Navigations and Surveillance (CNS) equipment in their provision of air navigation.
  • Key Non-Technical Competencies Required:

    • • Excellent attention to details, analytical skills, and the ability to meet strict publication deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and conformity.
    • • Ability to assess and make critical and precise decisions in real-time work situation and to remain calm under stressful conditions
    • • Excellent stakeholder and customer relationship management skills.
    • • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Qualifications

  • • Associate degree in the Arts, Social Sciences or equivalent; and
  • • Passes in Geography, Mathematics and English Language;
  • • Spanish is an asset;
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; and
  • • Successful completion of ICAO Aeronautical Information Services Officer course (AIS021); and
  • • Successful completion of On-the-Job Training at AIM AD/ARO and the AIM International NOTAM Office.
