Summary

The Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority (JACRA) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Temporary Administrative Assistant to support its Field Advisory/Extension Services Unit. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong communication, coordination, and clerical skills who is passionate about supporting sustainable agriculture and rural development. As a key member of the team, the Administrative Assistant will contribute to data management, field coordination, stakeholder engagement, and administrative logistics critical to the success of our field programs and farmer outreach efforts. 💰Basic Salary: $2,100,000 - $2,400,000 JMD per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Coordinator and Field Advisory Officers.
  • Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, meeting notes, and communication materials.
  • Assist with organizing field events, training sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems, records, and farmer data entry logs.
  • Track and replenish office supplies and coordinate logistics for field activities.
  • Liaise with farmers, internal teams, and external partners to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably in a government or agricultural environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting.
  • Willingness to travel islandwide to support outreach activities.
  • Ownership of a reliable motor vehicle and a valid driver's license would be an asset.
