Internal Audit Assistant (Grade 5)
Summary
This position is responsible for conducting audit assignments organisation-wide to include the subsidiaries and business units. These activities should have a particular focus on risk assessment. 💰$5,612,841.27 - $6,418,683.7 JMD per annum.
Responsibilities
- • Test the effectiveness of the internal control environment through the execution of audit programmes and procedures.
- • Perform audit reviews as assigned.
- • Prepare audit plans including the specific risks to be evaluated.
- • Assist with the preparation of submissions to the various Audit Committees.
- • Execute all audits in accordance with professional standards.
- • Prepare and maintain thorough, complete and up-to-date work paper files that reflect the audit activities performed.
- • Identify control and process weaknesses, document main control points and provide evidential support for report recommendations.
- • Develop formal written audit memoranda/reports to communicate audit results to management and make recommendations as appropriate.
- • Analyse operational and management processes with particular focus on risk assessment.
- • Present to management the results, recommendations and conclusions of audit reviews considering materiality, pertinence and documentary evidence.
- • Assist in the execution of special reviews and consulting assignments.
- • Conduct specialised assignments and projects, and other tasks as directed.
- • Assist other Internal Audit staff on assignments as directed by Internal Audit management.
- • Maintain accurate time management information for submission.
- • Responsible for managing the PAJ Thrift Club funds including the Secretariat functions.
- • Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions.
- • Any other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor of Science in Accounting
- • Certificate in Supervisory Management would be considered an asset.
- • ACCA Professional Stage is desirable PLUS
- • Three (3) years of continuous working experience in internal audit OR with a professional and reputable accounting or auditing firm
