Summary

As the Senior Officer - Ignition Support (Onboarding), you will be operations-focused with responsibilities for performing various tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures provided by the Business Hub/Ignition Center team (Ignition BH), including, but not limited to: onboarding of new hires, organizing training programs for employees and tracking their progress, supporting the Learning & Development team in designing, implementing and evaluating training programs for Ignition staff, including leadership development programs for emerging leaders, and other duties associated with the full value chain of the employee lifecycle. The KJESS Senior Officer – Ignition Support (Onboarding) will take direction from the KJESS Functional Manager, Senior Manager and other Growth & Strategy client team members who are accountable for supported work.

Responsibilities

  • • Assist with organization of recruitment efforts (including rotational programs), resourcing and other employee-development initiatives
  • • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, providing them with the necessary training material and resources
  • • Finalize the process for development of training materials, schedule training sessions, and track employee progress
  • • Act as a Learning & Development assistant by supporting the learning and development team in designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs
  • • Assist with the creation of development plans, organize training programs, and track employee progress to aid the identification and development of skills for Ignition team members
  • • Assist with monitoring, and tracking leadership development initiatives, to ensure coaching and support is given to emerging leaders
  • • Support the launch and execution of team-building activities for the US Ignition team, by tracking the organization and implementation of initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and development
  • • Assist with the development of SOPs for processes relating to the onboarding and recruitment process.
  • • Encourage and support the identification of continuous improvement initiatives through knowledge sharing and best practices
  • • Assist with special projects, as needed, and any other duties as assigned by your reporting Manager or the Business

    • • Develop and maintain an understanding of different approaches to stakeholder management and be able to make an informed recommendation about which approach to use to maximum effect.
  • Administrative Support – Performs and facilitates execution of administrative activities and procedures for the operation of an office or facility by:

    • • Manages correspondence and communicates organizational information to appropriate parties as required.
  • Project Management - Creates and maintains an environment that guides a project to its successful completion.:

    • • Understands the risks involved in starting a project.
    • • Understands the importance of quality assurance and control.
  • Speaking and Listening – Effectively present and receive information and concepts, in both written and oral formats. Actively listen to ensure understanding by:

    • • A concentrated focus on applying and enhancing knowledge and skill.
    • • Applying this competency to situations frequently, while needing minimal guidance to perform successfully.

Qualifications

  • • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field from an accredited educational institution or equivalent experience.
  • • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in business operations
  • • 2 years communication, relationship building and planning experience in a large organization is desired
  • • Prior experience in onboarding, training and learning & development is desired
  • • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • • Excellent communication, organizational and planning, and relationship building skills
