Processing Worker

Summary

To support all Poultry Processing Plant activities to prepare poultry for consumers’ use. These includes sanitization, receiving cutting and deboning, packaging, and warehousing as well as the maintenance of good manufacturing and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• • Unload meat according to workplace procedures
• • Check and record delivery of meat following workplace procedures
• • Clean and maintain vehicle and receptacles used to transport meats following workplace procedures
• • Carry out emergency segregation of meats containing abnormalities following industry procedures
• • Maintain the scalder according to the workplace procedures
• • Grade package and store meat carcass according to workplace standards

• Prepare meats for other processing:

  • • cutting
  • • seasoned
  • • deboning
  • • and/or cooking
• • Conduct quality checks of poultry parts according to guidelines given
• • Package products according to workplace standard
• • Work in a team to complete assigned tasks
• • All other duties assigned.

Additional Information and Instructions

• Specific challenges and working conditions:

  • • Poultry processing plant with fast-paced activity and exposure to heat and noise.
  • • Night Shift Only 2pm-11pm
  • • May be required to work weekends, night and or public holiday
  • • Must be living within Kingston
