
Disaster Recovery Manager
Summary
Lead the Sagicor Group Disaster Recovery (DR) program while consulting with a team of experts in the field to ensure that appropriate procedures are developed and implemented during the preparation and full activation phases of the Disaster Recovery simulation and coordinate with the relevant Business Unit Heads as appropriate. Recommend and implement appropriate training to staff before and during disruptive events.
Responsibilities
- • Evaluate, develop, update, and maintain the capabilities of Sagicor Group Jamaica’s disaster recovery operations.
- • Monitor and track incidents reported to ensure that there is a redundancy plan in place for business continuity.
- • Coordinate the integration between and among business lines supporting the disaster recovery operations.
- • Develop, organize, and coordinate training and meetings as appropriate.
- • Provide leadership in the operational readiness for Sagicor Group Jamaica’s Disaster Recovery Operations Command Center.
- • Provide specific support and recommendations for Sagicor Group Jamaica to assist in recovery operations in the event of a disaster.
- • Serve as an expert within Sagicor Group Jamaica for disaster recovery-related matters.
- • Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas in planning for business interruptions.
- • Maintain Sagicor Group Jamaica’s disaster recovery organization chart and contact rosters, with input and approval of upper management.
- • Manage and Coordinate post disaster recovery activities.
- • Prepare regularly scheduled incident response reporting of the progress of operations.
- • Serve in a leadership role within Sagicor Group Jamaica’s recovery operations.
- • Perform scheduled updates to business impact analysis (BIA), and facility-based risk analysis according to established business continuity risk management practices.
- • Assist with coordinating, validating and testing the documented business continuity plans.
- • Manage and deliver effective business continuity strategies to support and, in time of disaster, recover the company's critical business functions.
- • Maintain regulatory compliance in daily activities by strictly adhering to data privacy regulations/acts and relevant cybersecurity policies, and defined standards, guidelines, and procedures to avoid non-compliance and associated risks.
- • Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • Knowledge of business continuity planning, emergency and incident planning, analysis, concepts, methodology and regulatory requirements is required.
- • Knowledge of Crisis Management concepts and techniques, ability to predict, avert, mitigate, and recover from an event that has or could have severely had a negative impact on the business is required.
- • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a team and other emergency response partners.
- • Demonstrate effective work habits and relationships, including the ability to work as part of a team or independently and accomplish multiple projects simultaneously.
- • Ability to function effectively as a Disaster Recovery Operations Leader during emergency or disaster situations.
- • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a diverse group of people professionally.
- • Excellent time management and organizing skills.
- • Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Emergency Management or a related field, from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in emergency services and/or public safety.
