Summary

JN Bank Limited is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experience individual for the position of Adjudicator - Digital Credit. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and the management of digital credit applications while driving process optimization and regulatory compliance. This role involves coaching verifiers and loan officers, recommending policy changes, and collaborating across teams to ensure sustainable growth in the bank's digital lending portfolio. Operating in a dynamic environment, the adjudicator balances customer-centric decision-making with the financial and regulatory framework mandated by the Bank of Jamaica.

Responsibilities

  • Loan Review:

    • • Review applications, identifying any inherent risk, and make credit decisions commensurate with the risk assessed.
    • • Review applications and make credit decisions within prescribed service level standards.
    • • Consult with Deferral Manager on loan conditions, exceptions and decision to reject applications.
    • • Clearly document reasons for loan approval (where warranted) and rejection.
    • • Escalate applications to the Deferral Manager in keeping with established guidelines.
    • • Document the reasons for deferring loan applications to the Deferral Manager.
    • • Ensure compliance with Bank of Jamaica regulations, AML/CFT guidelines, and internal policies.
    • • Ensure decisions are communicated clearly and empathically to internal and external customers especially in cases of rejected applications.
  • Credit Risk Management Support:

    • • Review credit policy and related manuals and make recommendations for change as needed.
    • • Facilitate ongoing coaching experience for Verifiers and Loan Officers.
    • • To assist in delivering credit-related training as needed.

Required Skills

  • • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • • Proficiency in digital tools, data analysis, and loan management systems.
  • • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing the Jamaican financial sector.
  • • Customer oriented possessing the commitment to deliver positive and fair results

Qualifications

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • • Certification in credit risk management or coaching is an asset.
  • • At least five (5) years’ experience in credit adjudication, underwriting, or risk management, with background in digital lending preferred.
