Deputy Laboratory Director

Summary

The incumbent is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensures data generation, and supports the Laboratory Director and senior management to ensure efficient laboratory functioning.

Responsibilities

• • Compliance with quality standards.
• • Supervises staff performance and supports quality control programs.
• • Enforce policies and referral labs.
• • Authorizing client reports.
• • Addressing issues affecting test quality.
• • Liaising with doctors and staff to resolve concerns.

Required Skills

• • Strong communication, organization, supervision, and leadership skills.
• • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and decision-making abilities while working collaboratively with peers and senior staff.
• • A willingness to learn new techniques.
• • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are also essential.

Qualifications

• • BSc or Diploma in Medical Technology.
• • At least five years of supervisory experience.
• • A valid government license from Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Jamaica).
