
Deputy Laboratory Director
Summary
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensures data generation, and supports the Laboratory Director and senior management to ensure efficient laboratory functioning.
Responsibilities
- β’ Compliance with quality standards.
- β’ Supervises staff performance and supports quality control programs.
- β’ Enforce policies and referral labs.
- β’ Authorizing client reports.
- β’ Addressing issues affecting test quality.
- β’ Liaising with doctors and staff to resolve concerns.
Required Skills
- β’ Strong communication, organization, supervision, and leadership skills.
- β’ Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and decision-making abilities while working collaboratively with peers and senior staff.
- β’ A willingness to learn new techniques.
- β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are also essential.
Qualifications
- β’ BSc or Diploma in Medical Technology.
- β’ At least five years of supervisory experience.
- β’ A valid government license from Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Jamaica).
