Summary
The Best Dressed Chicken Division is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to join their Hatchery operations in St. Catherine, Jamaica. This critical role is essential for maintaining the precise environmental conditions necessary for the healthy development of chicks across multiple hatchery locations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the uninterrupted reliability of refrigeration systems and the optimal functionality of HVAC infrastructure, directly contributing to the division's operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- • Conduct scheduled general repair maintenance, perform regular servicing, and troubleshoot necessary repairs on a diverse range of refrigeration equipment.
- • Install HVAC ductwork, utilizing both flexible and sheet metal construction techniques.
- • Execute routine and preventative maintenance on a comprehensive array of hatchery equipment and infrastructure.
- • Perform plumbing and electrical tasks as required to support seamless facility operations.
- • Proactively identify potential operational issues and implement preventative strategies to minimize disruptions.
- • Maintain accurate records detailing maintenance activities and equipment status.
- • Adhere to all established safety protocols and regulations.
- • Travel between the company's hatchery locations as needed.
Required Skills

- • Leverage their extensive experience as a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician, ideally from an industrial or manufacturing background, to ensure optimal system performance.
- • Apply their in-depth knowledge of refrigeration systems to quickly diagnose and effectively resolve complex issues.
- • Utilise their proven skills in HVAC ductwork installation (flexible and sheet metal) to execute professional and reliable installations.
- • Contribute to operational efficiency through proficient execution of routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
- • Enhance our capabilities with valuable basic plumbing and electrical skills.
- • Exhibit exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Qualifications
- • Certified expertise in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration from an accredited institution.
- • Adaptable to flexible shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
- • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation is an advantage for this role.
- • Available to work on a contractual basis.
