Maintenance Manager

Summary

Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director, Engineering & Technical Services, the incumbent will be responsible to perform duties including, but not limited to, ensuring that the Depot meets its daily run-out requirements for vehicles that are clean and in good operating condition, directing the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for the Depot's vehicles, equipment, and facilities, and analyzing cost and repair histories in order to identify repeat problems and institute appropriate corrective measures to address root causes. The JUTC is a limited liability company incorporated under the Companies Act of Jamaica and owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ). Reporting to the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, the JUTC, effective April 01, 2025, will be providing public transit services in the western region, servicing the parishes of Trelawny, St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland, and St. Elizabeth. The Company will deliver public transport services seven days a week and, in some instances, up to 16 hours a day. We, therefore, invite suitably qualified persons to fill the following posts for its Montego Bay Depot, effective April 01, 2025. 💰Salary: $6,300,000 JMD per annum payable monthly, and related benefits.

Required Skills

• • Excellent knowledge of maintenance management, including bus automotive technology and tire and body repair techniques.
• • Excellent report writing skills.
• • Sound knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for bus mechanical/electrical operations.
• • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• • Excellent supervisory skills.
• • Good time management skills.
• • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• • Strong interpersonal skills.
• • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• • The ability to lead and motivate staff.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• • Five (5) years' working experience in maintenance/repair operations, with at least two (2) years at a supervisory level.
