Summary

The JUTC is a limited liability company incorporated under the Companies Act of Jamaica and owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ). Reporting to the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, the JUTC is the exclusive provider of public transit services in the Kingston Metropolitan Transit Region. The Company delivers public transport services seven days a week and, in some instances, up to 14 hours a day. We, therefore, invite an individual who is innovative, proactive and possess strong leadership qualities to join the JUTC as our MANAGER, FRANCHISE PROTECTION & INSPECTION đź’°Salary: $7.7 million JMD per annum, payable monthly, and related benefits.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director- Operations, the Manager, Franchise Protection & Inspection is responsible for duties to include but not limited to managing the JUTC's Franchise Holders and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, protecting the company's assets and maintaining the integrity of our transportation franchise, assisting passengers and providing customer service and ensuring the bus is following its route and achieving system-wide effectiveness through the checking of the presence and validity of tickets on each bus.

  • • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • • Well-developed human relations and negotiating skills.
  • • Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced and highly complex work environment.
  • • Sound knowledge of all codes, regulations, policies, and procedures related to public transportation operations.
  • • Sound knowledge of the geography and street network of the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region (KMTR).
  • • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff at various levels.

Qualifications

  • • B.Sc. Degree in Operations Management or equivalent qualification.
  • • Ten (10) years experience as a manager in operations management of which at least Five (5) years should be at a senior management level.

The incumbent is accountable to the Director, Corruption Prevention, Stakeholder Engagement and Anti-Corruption Strategy, for the provision of operation and strategic leadership to the Unit to effectively and efficiently discharge corruption prevention measures, programmes and activities, pursuant to Section 6 of the Integrity Commission Act, 2017. The post holder will be required to operationalise all activities related to the development of a national anti-corruption strategy whilst simultaneously engaging local and international stakeholders to aid in building effective and meaningful relationships, and at all times fostering a proactive culture of compliance, deterrence and trust in the anti-corruption efforts and strategic objectives of the Commission. đź’°Salary: $7,716,512 JMD per annum.
