The Jamaica Values and Attitudes (JAMVAT) Programme offers a unique opportunity for financially challenged tertiary students in Jamaica to cover a portion of their tuition costs by contributing to the nation's social capital through public service. Application Period and Submission Guidelines
The application period for funding commences April 1 and closes June 30.
Applicants are encouraged to SUBMIT their applications even if they are awaiting Status/Tuition letters and Transcripts. All other required documents for consideration should be uploaded promptly.
Please note the following:
- Students awaiting CSEC, CAPE, and acceptance letters from their institution of choice will be provisionally processed pending the release of their results. Submission of all other documents must be completed by June 30.
- Continuing students without transcripts, statement of fees, and status letters may submit all outstanding documents by June 30.

Jamaica Values and Attitudes (JAMVAT) Programme for Tertiary Students
The JAMVAT Programme provides assistance to tertiary students who qualify for admission but are financially challenged to cover their tuition costs. Access to this programme offers the opportunity for students to participate in the development of the nation’s social capital through their contribution of 200 hours of public service. Upon completing the JAMVAT programme, each student should receive 30% of tuition payment, not exceeding $350,000.
Requirements:
- Provide the details of TWO (2) potential work placement sites conveniently located near you. These must be government or non-profit organizations, and their willingness to facilitate your completion of the required 200 voluntary hours must be indicated by their signature and stamp on the form.
- Important: This form MUST be signed and stamped by the placement representative and submitted for approval by the JAMVAT office before the commencement of service hours.

- Certified copy of your Birth Certificate/Valid ID and TRN (Taxpayer Registration Number).
- New students must attach a certified copy of their acceptance letter (no more than 6 months old).
- Returning students must attach a status letter and an official transcript with proof of GPA (no more than 6 months old).
- Tuition letter.
- Passport Size Picture.
Conditions:
- Applicant must be between the ages of 18 & 35 on or before December 31 of the year of application.
- Applicant must be a Full Time student.
- Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.
- Complete 200 service hours upon approval.
