The PowerUp STEM Scholarship for Teachers’ College Students, offered by the JPS Foundation, is designed to support aspiring educators in Jamaica who are pursuing degrees in STEM-related subjects. This scholarship aims to strengthen the pipeline of qualified STEM teachers across the island.


Scholarship Features
- Valued up to $500,000 per academic year.
- Valid for the academic year immediately following the offer.
- Non-deferrable under any circumstances.
- Renewable annually for up to a maximum of four years, subject to continued eligibility.
Applicant Qualifications
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an accredited Teachers’ College in Jamaica.
- Be accepted to or currently pursuing a first degree in teaching, specifically in a STEM-related subject.
- Demonstrate high academic performance, such as:
- A GPA of 3.0 or above, or strong CSEC/CAPE results.
- Show active engagement in extra-curricular activities and/or volunteer work.
- Demonstrate financial need.
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must provide:
- Proof of acceptance or enrolment at an accredited Teachers’ College in Jamaica.
- The most recent high school report or tertiary academic transcript.
