The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service invites applications for the 2025 Marcus Garvey Public Sector Graduate Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship offers the opportunity for graduate studies at approved local and international universities, with programs commencing in the 2025/26 academic year. Studies may be conducted onsite, online, or through a combination of both, but must be undertaken on a full-time basis.

- IT/ICT/Cyber Security/Data Analytics
- Climate Change (Environmental Management/Disaster Risk Management)
- Education (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics - STEM)
- Engineering/Built Environment
- Law, Public Policy & Administration
- National Security
- Public Health
- Postgraduate Studies in:
- Economics/Fiscal Policy
- Public Financial Management
- Legal Drafting
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Marcus Garvey Public Sector Graduate Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be Jamaican citizens who have resided in Jamaica for at least three years prior to the application.
- Be 45 years or younger at the time of application.
- Have already applied to or been accepted by a participating university and demonstrate eligibility to graduate within two years from the scholarship award date.
- Hold a university degree at the time of the scholarship application (for graduate-level scholarships).
- Have a minimum of two years of continuous service with the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) and meet the qualifications for Study Leave.
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- Certified copies of academic transcripts for all degrees completed.
- Three recommendation letters: Character, Employer, and Academic.
- Certified Birth Certificate or Bio-data Page of Passport.
- A Medical Certificate.
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Scholarship Benefits
The Marcus Garvey Scholarship provides comprehensive support, covering:
- 100% tuition costs for programs aligned with the thematic areas at participating universities.
- Additional benefits may include:
- Tuition and mandatory fees.
- Miscellaneous and book allowances.
- Medical insurance (if applicable).
- Round-trip economy class airfare at the beginning and end of studies (where applicable).
Obligations of Recipients
Successful applicants are required to sign a Bond Agreement with the Government of Jamaica. This agreement obligates them to serve in the Public Sector for a specified period upon completion of their studies.
