Empowering Academic Excellence for Clients and Their Children

The Cornerstone/Barita Tertiary Scholarship offers a valuable opportunity for Jamaican students pursuing undergraduate degrees. This scholarship is available to clients of Cornerstone/Barita or their children and aims to support academically strong students who demonstrate financial need.

💡 Scholarship Highlights

• Value: Up to $350,000 JMD per academic year
• Duration: Renewable annually for a maximum of four years
• Deferral: Not allowed – the scholarship must be used immediately in the academic year following the award

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

To apply, applicants must:

• Be a Jamaican citizen, aged 18 to 29, residing in Jamaica
• Be a Cornerstone/Barita client for at least six months or the child of a current client
• Be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited undergraduate degree programme in Jamaica
• Be pursuing their first degree (not previously obtained any degree)
• Demonstrate financial need
• Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Show involvement in extracurricular and/or voluntary activities

📚 Academic & Service Requirements

If awarded, recipients must:

• Maintain full-time enrolment
• Achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Complete at least 20 hours of voluntary service per academic year

📑 Required Supporting Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

• One (1) passport-sized photograph
• Certified birth certificate
• Proof of acceptance or enrolment in an accredited Jamaican undergraduate programme
• Most recent transcript or progress report
• Evidence of outstanding tuition or fee balances from the institution
• Job letter (if employed)
