QA Engineer (80% Automation Playwright/Cypress + Javascript/Typesscript)
Summary
Join a multi-functional remote team to own our products from top to bottom! Enjoy participating in both product discovery and product delivery cycles having a real impact on the products owned by the team! Collaborate with other specialists/team to develop new features, APIs, improvements, and fixes to handle our current and future scale. Build new features and help our customers have an incredible experience with our products! We are looking for someone who will perform automation testing (80% of the job at hand) but very knowledgeable in regards to manual testing as well: a deep understanding of designing, writing, running, maintaining and debugging applications across in our stack will be paramount to succeed in this role

Responsibilities
Ensuring Customer Excellence:
- • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal customer base.
- • Lives the company’s values and service standards with regards to customer interaction.
- • Adheres to business processes and systems to meet the company’s quality requirements.
- • Takes personal accountability for service excellence.
- • Adheres to the company’s work standards.
Information security:
- • Understand their role within the organisation from an information security perspective and commit to protecting the organisation’s security information assets
Test Planning:
- • Collaborate with software development teams to understand project requirements and specifications
- • Develop comprehensive test plans outlining test strategies, scope, resources, and schedule
Test Design and Execution:
- • Analyse features and apply appropriate test techniques.
- • Design and execute test cases based on project requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
- • Conduct various types of testing, including functional, system, integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
- • Provide feedback to automation testing team to improve efficiency and coverage.
- • Provide test analysis and execution estimations on test effort.
- • Participate in test case reviews, test case walk through and contribute to peer reviews of test cases.
- • Identify, document, and track defects, and work with teams to ensure their timely resolution.
- • Identify and raise project risks on time.
Collaboration and Communication:
- • Work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project/tasks
Testing requirements:
- • Communicate effectively with team members to report testing progress, issues, and blockers.
- • Participate in regular meetings to discuss testing plans, challenges, and improvements.
- • Participate in grooming and other requirements elicitation discussions.
- • Participate and contribute to knowledge sharing sessions.
- • Attend and participate in running team meetings.
- • Liaise with automation team and discuss test cases to be automated.
Documentation:
- • Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- • Ensure that testing artifacts are up-to-date and accessible to team members from the test repository.
- • Update and maintain regression test packs.
Continuous Improvement:
- • Contribute to the improvement of the software development life cycle by providing feedback on testing processes
Tools, and methodologies:
- • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing tools to enhance testing processes
Qualifications
- • Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance processes and methodologies - STD, STP
- • Experience with work item tools like Jira
- • Knowledge of SQL queries
At least 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer with a strong knowledge of:
- • JavaScript/TypeScript
- • Playwright or Cypress
- • Mocha/Jest - or any other test runner
- • Selenium/WDIO or any other tool for E2E testing
- • Axios/Got/Postman or any other tool for REST API testing
- • CI/CD processes
- • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- • Self-starter who works well with a team and can drive projects forward with minimal supervision
- • Experience in performing exploratory-based testing
- • Experience in onboarding junior colleagues
- • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
- • Solid time management skills
- • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- • ISTQB testing certifications (nice to have)
