Software Engineer (MIS/IT 5)

Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following position within the Information Communication Technology Division of the Police Department: Under the general direction of the System Development and Maintenance Manager, the Software Engineer is responsible for providing assistance in developing and implementing moderately complex software, creating and executing designs for small sets of new functionality for use in the JCF. The Software Engineer will also participate in identifying user requirements, designing, coding, implementing, and maintaining software solutions.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, ICT, and Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• • Specialized training in Software Design or Business Analysis.
• • Two (2) years' experience in an Application Development role.

  • • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software. The environment is fast-paced with ongoing interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines, which will result in high degrees of pressure on occasions.
  • • May be required to travel locally and overseas to attend conferences, seminars, and meetings.
