Cook (LEVEL 1) - Blossom Gardens Child Care Facility
Summary
To plan and provide healthy nutritionally balanced meals to meet the needs of children in the care of the state đź’° Salary: $969,653 - $1,304,075 JMD per annum
Responsibilities
- • Plan and prepare healthy and nutritious meals for the wards
- • Maintain work area that is hygienic and sanitized within the required guidelines
- • Ensure that meals are prepared under clean and hygienic conditions
- • Ensure that meals are palatable and attractively presented
- • Cook foodstuffs according to menu, special dietary and/or nutritional restrictions, and number of persons to be served
- • Prepare and cook vegetables, salads, dressings and desserts
- • Bake breads, rolls, and other pastries
- • Ensure that meals are served in keeping with dietary nutritional standards and meet special needs of wards within care
- • Assist with the preparation of diet sheets and menus, taking advantage of foods in season and local availability
- • Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment and appliances, and other supplies, and receive deliveries
- • Maintain inventory of all the items in the kitchen
- • Maintain clean and attractive dining area
- • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils and other cooking equipment
- • Direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals
- • Report all abnormal health conditions to Supervisor immediately
- • Attend meetings, seminars and other graining sessions as required
- • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time
Required Skills

- • Very good interpersonal and coordination skills
- • Good oral and written communication skills
- • Must be dependable, courteous and a team player
- • Knowledge of CPR and First Aid
- • Good Report writing skills
- • Ability to multi-task and to work under pressure
