GNOC Surveillance Engineer

Summary

As a NOC Engineer, you will perform surveillance and diagnostics on all Digicel CALA networks, acting as first line of defense against any operational or performance issue on the network.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the network and other related platform to proactively identify issues, resolve same and or escalate if needed
  • Maintain Service Level Agreement (SLA) in order to achieve 99.99 network availability
  • Inform the business, stakeholders and peers about network performance and service availability by way of an establish means of communication
  • Perform surveillance and proactive maintenance to prevent undue network outages
  • Maintains quality of service by enforcing quality and industry standards, analyzing, and resolving network quality and customer service problems

Required Skills

  • Must understand the concepts of Incident, Problem and Change Management in a telecom environment and their associated OLA’s and SLA’s
  • Thorough understanding of how different teams in telecom operations interact with each other
  • Must be willing to work in rotating morning, evening and night shifts
  • Must be proficient in all ticketing and network management or performance tools
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English language, both oral and written
  • Must be a team player
  • Willing to work under pressure, in a fast paced and challenging environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/IT Engineering
  • More than 3 years’ experience in telecom industry, in Network Operation Management environment
  • Spanish required as a second language
