
Legal Officer
Summary
The Legal Officer Principal is responsible for providing legal advice to the organization, conducting legal research, preparing legal opinions, contracts and legal documents. The incumbent also provides information, guidance and general legal advice to SMA staff and support the Legal Affairs Division.
Responsibilities
The principal duties of the Legal Officer include:
- • Providing legal advice and guidance to the SMA.
- • Ensures that the company meets its compliance obligations under relevant laws and the requirements of regulatory authorities.
- • Provides advice on contracts and tender documents to ensure compliance with procurement laws and guidelines.
- • Negotiates the terms of new business contracts.
- • Preparing legal opinions, contracts and other documents.
- • Conducting legal research.
Required Skills
- • Knowledge of international legislation and regulations, specifically international agreements relevant to spectrum management would be a distinct advantage.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
- • Legal Education Certificate.
- • Five (5) years’ experience in telecommunications law, commercial law and/or related areas.
